Tell us about yourself and your organization. What does your organization do, and what is your role?

I’m the owner of Luciana Calvin Photography, a boutique portrait studio in Chelmsford. I came to the US from Brazil over 30 years ago — Portuguese is my first language — and I hold a degree in Information Technology, which shaped how I run the business as much as the camera does. My studio specializes in family portraits, themed children’s experiences, senior portraits, headshots, and pets, with a focus on finished, printed artwork rather than files on a hard drive.

What makes your organization special or unique?

I believe photographs should become heirlooms, not digital clutter. Everything I create is designed to be held, displayed, and passed down — printed wall art and storybooks that outlast phones and hard drives. I also serve the Brazilian and Portuguese-speaking community in the Boston area in their own language, which means families can be fully themselves in front of my camera.

What’s an accomplishment or milestone you’re especially proud of?

Launching my Fairy Chronicles experience — a themed portrait session that ends in a personalized heirloom storybook telling each child’s own fairy tale. Watching a child see themselves as the hero of a printed book their family will keep forever is why I do this work.

What does being part of the Greater Lowell community mean to you?

The Chamber connected me to the local business community in a way no marketing could.

How has being a Chamber member impacted your business?

It’s become my main bridge to corporate clients for headshots and branding work, and the relationships I’ve built here go well beyond referrals.

What’s next? What are you looking forward to?

Growing the Fairy Chronicles experience and continuing to build a studio focused on legacy — work families will still be holding decades from now.
