Tell us about yourself and your organization. What does your organization do, and what is your role?
I am the Assistant Dean of Corporate Education and Training at MCC. I work with employers, industries, and municipalities to develop training and educational programs that help individuals gain skills, advance their careers, and meet workforce needs. MCC is focused on meeting each student where they are, providing access to quality education and workforce programs. We offer accessible, high-quality pathways—from free community college and dual enrollment for high schoolers to “Learn & Earn” apprenticeships and upskilling for working adults—ensuring economic mobility for all community members. As an agile, community-embedded institution, MCC provides hands-on training that solves real-world workforce gaps. We are not just an alternative to four-year schools; we are a vital engine for local economic and social stability.
What makes your organization special or unique?
Community colleges play an integral role in educating and preparing students with the skills necessary to fill in-demand positions in the local workforce while also increasing each student’s economic mobility. We create equitable pathways from K-12 to the workforce. By partnering with local businesses, MCC ensures that every student—regardless of background—gains the specific skills needed to succeed in the regional economy. We serve anyone seeking a degree, certificate, or skill set to achieve upward mobility.
